Great Snowmaking Temps -- November 22 Opening!
Cold temperatures all this week means the snowmaking guns at Waterville Valley are blasting 24 hours a day. For opening weekend, we plan to run High Country and the Northside Chairlifts servicing skiing and riding on High Country's Ruthie Run and Scramble and on the Northside's Tippecanoe. The White Peak Quad will also run as a transport lift to the summit. We'll keep you updated as we get closer to opening day. Check out Waterville Valley's Snovember/December lift and lodging specials right here. Check out the snow and grooming report here.
Expanded Snowmaking and Grooming Lead List of Investments at Waterville Valley
Waterville Valley opens for the 42nd Season with over $550,000 in improvements. Here's a quick look at the top investments:
- Eighty-five new energy efficient tower guns will give Waterville Valley 25% more snowmaking power to ensure an earlier and more expansive start to the season. Waterville Valley's opening date is Saturday, November 22.
- A new snow cat has also been added to Waterville Valley's extensive grooming fleet
- Thanks to Mother Nature's generosity last season, guests discovered the fun of glade skiing so this summer we spent time thinning tree-skiing entrances, exits and lines down Old-T Trees and Psycho Glades.
- Snowboarders get a new line up of rails and boxes created by Waterville's Terrain Park Manager and Pro Rider, Luke Mathison.
- Keeping the energy going all day long will be an upgraded music system
- To reduce carbon emissions, all resort shuttle buses will be running on bio diesel this winter.
- A new bio diesel shuttle bus will also be used to transport employees from Exit 28.
- Waterville Valley's food service will use biodegradable plates made from bamboo and biodegradable cups made from corn and will continue recycling with the town.
- An enhanced online e-commerce system will allow guests to make advanced reservations prior to arrival, including snowsports and packaging options with tickets, rentals and lessons.
