Waterville Valley is surrounded by the southernmost 4,000' peaks of the White Mountains. Long before skiing came to Waterville, it was known as a premier hiking destination. It's network of hiking trails, dating back to the mid 1800's has been called the "oldest hiking trail system in the Northeast". Waterville offers hikers spectacular views, breathtaking waterfalls, rugged climbs, quiet ponds and gentle woodland paths- whatever suits your mood or style. Here is a list of trail descriptions from easy, moderate to difficult compiled by the Waterville Valley Athletic and Improvement Association (WVAIA).
